Enviroment

Our program aims to develop a roadmap to advance compliance with international climate commitments by 2030, with a specific focus on Chile’s coastal zone.

This process is based on building local capacities, addressing key structural issues, and drawing inspiration from emblematic public policies in California, such as the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) and the Coastal Act. These references allow for the adaptation and innovation of Chile’s own models with a scientific, participatory, and community-based approach, thereby strengthening sustainable and resilient marine governance.

Thanks to the geographical similarities between Chile and California, this partnership represents a unique opportunity to design effective, scalable, and regionally relevant solutions to address climate change and coastal degradation.

Conservation

Through the Chile California Conservation Exchange (CCCX), we have promoted key opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange between professionals from both territories.

Between 2017 and 2019, CCCX sponsored annual conferences in California, bringing together more than 35 academics, scientists, and representatives from Chile’s public and private sectors.

These gatherings have been instrumental in establishing strategic connections and have served as a true catalyst for environmental conservation initiatives that are now being developed across various Chilean ecosystems.

Through these connections, we foster the protection of natural areas, responsible land management, and the development of communities committed to conserving their environment.
